Dr Uma Ullas Pradhan, DirectorNanotechnology is among the most disruptive areas of science, transforming the way we address problems in electronics, energy, medicine, agriculture, and manufacturing. Through the control of matter at the atomic and molecular levels, this science makes it possible to develop new products that are smaller, tougher, and more efficient than ever.

The industry has seen impressive growth in India over the last decade. Initiatives such as the Nano Mission by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), and support through schemes such as Elevate and NIDHI Prayas, have enabled scholars and entrepreneurs to turn their lab findings into viable, market-ready products.

Of these, Nanosentrix is one that has been a forerunner in offering cost-effective and high-performance solutions with the help of cutting-edge nanotechnology. “Nanotechnology is the future of sustainable industry, small in scale, but huge in impact”, states Dr Uma Ullas, Director, Nanosentrix.

Innovations Made Affordable

Nanosentrix was born from the Inks and Sensors Lab at the Centre for Incubation, Innovation, Research, and Consultancy (CIIRC). It was co- founded by Dr C. B. Mohan and came into being as an official startup, which aimed to make high-quality nanotechnology-based products economically viable.

Nanosentrix currently focuses on manufacturing Conductive inks and printed sensors, Advanced nanomaterial-based
coatings, in-mold electronics, Smart cement solutions, Aqueous-based fire extinguishers, Biodegradable materials from coffee grounds and repurposed floral residue.

What’s unique about Nanosentrix is that it focuses on indigenous development, uncompromising quality assurance, and affordability. The company manufactures all its solutions in-house to guarantee consistency and purity.

“At Nanosentrix, we believe technology must serve people, not intimidate them. That's why we make innovation practical and affordable”, opines Dr C B Mohan, Co-Founder, Nanosentrix.

The future belongs to those who turn knowledge into value, and at Nanosentrix, that’s exactly what we strive to do, every single day

A Team Built on Vision & Resilience

Nanosentrix, backed by CIIRC and mentored by Founder-Director, Dr Krishna Venkatesh, is a dynamic startup offering sustainable and affordable nanotechnology solutions. With a team of experts in materials science, chemistry, electronics, and engineering, and access to cutting-edge research infrastructure, the company ensures every product is rigorously tested.

Notable innovations include a high-temperature coating for Steel Industries, successfully scaled from lab to industrial use, and an eco-friendly, plant safe aqueous fire extinguisher ideal for forest and EV fires.

Their coffee residue-based biodegradable material, developed over two years, works seamlessly with existing injection molding machines, offering industries an easy shift toward sustainability. Nanosentrix blends science, innovation, and social impact to solve real-world industrial challenges.

Future Vision

Looking ahead, Nanosentrix will continue to grow its portfolio in new verticals and international markets while maintaining its commitment to affordability, sustainability, and quality. They remain keenly interested in practical uses of nanotechnology that can address day-to-day challenges in industry and society.

From green packaging to future electronics and eco-friendly coatings, the company aims to be at the forefront of revolutionizing nanotechnology applications in India and the world. Nanosentrix will venture into global partnerships, expand manufacturing capacity, and keep fostering young minds with research collaborations. “Innovation needs to be inclusive. If it's not reaching all, it's not complete”, believes Dr Uma Ullas, Director, Nanosentrix.
