How many education companies really think - why a child would sit down to study? These companies cannot compete only on the content as there was never a dearth of content; it is available both in online and offline mode. The perennial problem was that the child never had that internal quest to learn from the content – ‘why’ would child find it interesting and self-motivating.

Kolkata based MindHour believes that true learning ensues when learning is provided in a format and mode the child likes to consume. It is then that learning becomes an addictive experience. MindHour endeavors to build a Critical-Thinking mindset and a strong conceptual foundation of school going students of classes 6-10 with their three distinct products.

The inception story of MindHour revolves around four founding members -Sumit Marda, Varun Choudhary, Swati Maheshwari and Somya Agarwal. Their
undying love for technology once led them into serious discussion as to how technology has penetrated deep into lives but not into education. Students today enjoy playing games, watching videos on mobiles, laptops and tablets but when it comes to learning it is still the old school way of education. This thought eventually revolutionised the education sector. MindHour was born.

MindHour has offices across more than top 30 cities in India with in-house employee strength of around 60 and a Pan India network of more than 65 franchise partners

Today, MindHour is one of the fastest growing Indian edutech companies in the K-12 sector. “We ensure that the students get high marks without having to bear the burden of rote learning by making education simple, effective, personalized, experiential and gamified,” he says.

The Success Story
Team MindHour has raised a fund amount of 11.5 Cr from Times group (Bennett, Coleman & Co. Ltd), one of the leading media conglomerate in India in last January, 2016. In the years to come, MindHour is all set to have an aggressive reach-out plan to parents and students and educate them on this new smarter way of learning. “We need to make them understand that if learning becomes an addictive experience and a self-motivating process, excellence along with good marks in exams would follow automatically,” concludes Sumit.
