Revolutionizing Water Treatment with Electrochemical Innovation

Founded in 2022, Sundarban Chemicals Pvt. Ltd. has emerged as a pioneer in chemical-free, decentralized water treatment with electrocoagulation at the core of its innovation. EC uses low-voltage electrical current to destabilize and remove suspended solids, BOD, COD, color, heavy metals, and pathogens, without adding external coagulants. This not only ensures minimal sludge generation but also significantly lowers operational costs and environmental impact.

Among its flagship products is Agieo, a modular electrocoagulation unit designed to retrofit existing STP/ETP systems. Each Agieo unit can treat up to 250 LPH, operates at 5A and 40V DC, and delivers a current density of 2.5–4 mA/cm², making it both powerful and scalable. Its plug-and-play design allows for rapid deployment across industries like healthcare, pharmaceuticals, automotive, food processing, and decentralized sewage systems.
This breakthrough technology eliminates the need for chemical dosing, daily maintenance, and complex civil work, providing clients with an energy-efficient, compact solution that supports regulatory compliance and AMR mitigation.

Sundarban Chemicals also developed Herfom, a proprietary ECbased system designed specifically for healthcare institutions. Herfom treats hazardous liquid waste from labs and hospitals, achieving over 99 percent disinfection, along with BOD and COD reduction, helping institutions meet Bio-Medical Waste Management Rules and minimize antibiotic resistance risks.

EC Backed by Science & Simulation

Sundarban Chemicals combines its EC platform with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Molecular Dynamics (MD) simulation to optimize flow, turbulence, and electrochemical reaction zones. This enables data-driven customization for every project, ensuring each system is tailored for local water characteristics and pollution loads.

Growth & Future Roadmap

Sundarban Chemicals has gained national visibility by winning the iDEX DISC 11 challenge, and securing grants from DIO, TECHIN IIT Palakkad, and IIM Calcutta Innovation Park. With 100+ units already deployed, including exports to Nepal, the company is now preparing for international partnerships across Africa and Southeast Asia.
