While there is a vision for 100 percent electric vehicles by 2030, most industry experts indicate that around 40-45 percent EV conversion by 2030 is a realistic expectation. A major push towards EVs will be led by the public transportation requirements in India Fleet cars, E-Buses, 3 wheelers and 2 wheelers. The Government of India is working towards developing a mobility option which is `Shared, Connected and Electric. There is an increased need to prepare for a green future for Indian mobility and reduce dependence on imported crude oil. The Government plans to work towards creating a demand for EVs by buying in bulk, which could
provide for large orders for automakers.

Understanding this, early on many players in the automobile industry have been busy in preparing for the upcoming shift and upgrading the stock of their vehicles for the coming times and a breed of promising EV startups are currently working to strengthen the country's electric vehicle ecosystem. There is a growing mass of innovative, adventurous startups that are working to fight pollution from traditional vehicles by introducing futuristic, zero-emission mobility solutions. With advancements of sensor, electrical architecture, OTA, artificial Intelligence (AI) algorithms, mobility business models, machine learning and self-driving cars, these start-ups are disrupting the conventional ecosystem of the automotive industry.
