HORNOK is a super aggregator for the taxi ecosystem, which aims to decouple the demand & supplyside of the business & looks at consolidating the entire taxi economy ($18 billion), spanning all the Tier 1, 2 cities & the unorganized part of the industry. By leveraging technology, HORNOK aims to fill the huge gap in supply & demand gap that exists today.

”We have extensively interacted with the driver community and discovered their pain points & needs, they want their vehicles to be utilized and compensated equitably by government standards, so there was a significant disparity in how companies understood the driver's needs. Consequently, this is how our company and product evolved to make the driver's life better, which directly leads to better fulfillment & higher rider/ customer satisfaction, as our tagline states: ‘Happy drivers, Happier riders’. There is a huge demand for taxis but unfortunately, the supply side is greatly fragmented with a lot of driver facing applications, the high disparity in rates & too many demand channels which may range from a B2C application or OTA platforms like Makemytrip, Easemytrip, and more, to corporate channels and various other unorganized channels. HORNOK is an omnichannel demand aggregator, which funnels demand from various sources, funnels them into the platform & intelligently channels them to drivers via a single driver centric application thereby utilizing his asset to the best extent possible”, shares Aditya Rao, Founder & CEO, HORNOK.
Flagship service
“The first vertical we introduced was Taxi-as-a-Service, where in we provide APIs to OTA platforms, corporates & other major industries which require spot rentals (airport transfers & hourly rentals). This is an end-to-end customizable solution where, we provide 24/7 customer support, fulfillment & a vertically & horizontally scalable supply pool. In this regard we have longstanding & successful partnerships with the Go-MMT group, Mojoboxx, Mega Cabs, Gozo & several other corporates”, states Aditya.

Moreover, by leveraging technology, HORNOK has tried to resolve the key problem associated with this industry, which is the fulfillment rate, where the industry standard ranges from 50-70 percent or 5 out of 10 instances. HORNOK asserts that its fulfillment rate has always been above 99 percent and to achieve this, the platform has multiple tech layers that continuously monitor the ride until completion coupled with manual intervention at the right points.

the most important issue from the customer’s standpoint, which is safety, is HORNOK’s top priority, all driver & vehicle documents are directly verified from government servers and stored and periodically re-checked

The other concerning issue is a huge disparity in the rate/km that the driver earns, which differs with every company that the driver works with. Businesses heavily discount rides for their customers in a bid to get a bigger market share, as a result, the drivers suffer. The price of almost every commodity increases over time yet the fare that the driver earns doesn’t. HORNOK focuses solely on the driver and his needs, which in turn helps him live a happy and content life and as a happy byproduct, increases service quality & keeps the customers happy.

Also, the most important issue from the customer’s standpoint, which is safety, is HORNOK’s top priority, all driver & vehicle documents are directly verified from government servers and stored and periodically re-checked. HORNOK emphasises on the quality of the vehicles they onboard, there are thirty checks on the vehicle, driver behavior & periodic quality control checks.

Ultimately, HORNOK's strength lies in technology & supply and its core team consists of a technology team, a design team, and an operations team that handles dispatch, and supply. The company's plan is to mark its presence in metropolitan cities, namely Hyderabad, Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, and Chennai. In addition, HORNOK’s six products are now in development and will be launched in stages over the next few months.
