Packaged snack maker Beyond Snack raised $8.3 million in a Series A funding round headed by consumer-focused fund 12 Flags Group, which was started by Rakesh Kapoor, the former CEO of Reckitt Benckiser. Existing investors NAB Ventures and Enrission India Capital also participated in it.

The company says it will use the additional funding for supply chain infrastructure strengthening, product innovation, and expansion into new markets.

According to the company, the 2020-founded startup, which aims to reinvent banana chips, is the best-selling brand on e-commerce sites and has 20,000 retail locations throughout India.

In addition to classic salted chips, it offers options like Peri Peri and Sour Cream & Onion to appeal to health-conscious consumers. It claims that all of its products are free of artificial colors and flavors.

“Because of a lack of creativity and appropriate technology, banana chips are sometimes overlooked, but they are actually one of the most delicious snacks available. Therefore, we made the decision to spearhead that innovation and introduce cutting-edge technology into banana chips," said Beyond Snack Founder Manas Madhu.

"With this new investment, we can reach even more snack enthusiasts nationwide and elevate their snacking moments to a whole new level,” stated Madhu. "Beyond Snack banana chips have a unique taste."

It had previously raised $4 million from angel investors, NAB Ventures, 100X VC, and Faad Network.

According to Ashish Choudhury, CIO of NAB Ventures, "Beyond Snack is currently deepening backend integration and streamlining its supply chain, further enhancing its efficiency and sustainability within the Agri value chain."
