  • Raises Rs 5 crore in pre-seed round led by Momentum Capital.
  • Funds to boost recycling tech and expand solar waste operations.
  • Aims to recover 95% of materials from end-of-life solar panels.

Climate-tech startup Beyond Renewables & Recycling has raised Rs 5 crore in a pre-seed funding round led by Momentum Capital, with participation from Venture Catalysts, IIMA Ventures, Oorjan Cleantech, and Gautam Das. The company plans to use the capital to enhance its proprietary solar panel recycling technology, build a robust waste supply chain, and scale operations to address India’s growing solar waste challenge.

Founded in 2024 by Manhar Dixit and Vedant Taneja, the startup is building a circular economy for the solar industry. Its advanced recycling process recovers more than 95% of materials from discarded solar panels, including high-purity glass, silicon, silver, copper, and aluminum.

As India’s renewable energy sector expands rapidly, solar waste is becoming a major concern, expected to reach 1.2 million tons by 2040, and nearly 4.8 million tons under an early-loss scenario. Beyond Renewables is tackling this challenge using thermal and chemical treatments to extract reusable materials, turning hazardous waste into valuable resources.

The company has already secured over 2,000 metric tons of solar waste for recycling and is partnering with module manufacturers, EPC players, and asset owners to expand its sourcing network. Supported by IIT Mandi Catalyst and NSRCEL, Beyond Renewables has also received LOIs from buyers for its recycled materials such as glass and silicon.
