ByteEdge Raises $1.5 Million for Multilingual Video Solutions

ByteEdge, a New Delhi-based AI startup company, raised $1.5 million in a round of funding co-led by Japan's TRTL Ventures, and by a consortium of global and Indian angel investors.
Established in 2022 by Kamal Dutta and Akash Gupt, ByteEdge solves a pressing problem for many large organizations: how to successfully deliver information to deskless workers, who account for the bulk of the global workforce but are frequently excluded from conventional knowledge-sharing channels.
"The problem companies are dealing with today is that all information is in text files—PDFs, Word documents, PowerPoint files, etc.," said Akash Gupt, ByteEdge co-founder. "When this information is pushed to the workforce—particularly the frontline, where 70% of workers are deskless—it tends to go unread and ununderstood."
The startup converts corporate content into short, cinematic, multi-language videos and will utilize the funding to build its product team and expand its operations across India.
Market Presence
So far, ByteEdge has brought aboard more than 30 enterprise customers in industries like financial services, pharma, FMCG, and e-commerce, and generated about 80-85% of its revenues from India. But the startup is now ramping up international growth, with the US and the Middle East being the first countries it is targeting. To aid this expansion, it is looking to raise another $3 million in funding over the next four-five months.
"This is a worldwide problem. The largest challenge in the Middle East is that there are not enough platforms that can deliver this kind of information in the local Arabic language, particularly in video form. We see huge potential there, and the same is true for the US, which is overall a much bigger market," Gupt added.
