· Raised $2 million from Transition VC to expand smart metering and smart city applications.
· Plans to deploy 250 million smart meters in 4–5 years, targeting Rs 300 crore revenue by FY28.
· Exploring global expansion with interest from markets like the US and Japan.
Committel, a Bengaluru-headquartered deeptech communications company building smart, device-agnostic IoT infrastructure for utilities and smart cities, has raised $2 million from transition-focused investment vehicle Transition VC.
The money will be employed to speed up smart meter rollouts and extend to wider smart city use cases, such as smart lighting, water metering, and smart infrastructure management.
Started in 2018 by Amarjeet Kumar and Vikas Kashyap, Comminent creates standards-based, device-independent RF mesh communication networks for mission-critical infrastructure. Its high-throughput, self-healing, secure, and interoperable network stack overcomes the scalability, reliability, and latency limitations of traditional communication systems.
