
Consuma AI Raises Rs 12 Crore to Transform Consumer Research

- Equirus InnovateX Fund leads Rs 12 Crore seed round, investing Rs 7 Crore in Consuma AI.

AI powered consumer research startup Consuma AI has raised Rs 12 crore in a seed funding round led by Equirus InnovateX Fund, which contributed Rs 7 crore. This marks the fund’s first investment in an AI focused company.
Founded in 2021 by Abhilash Madabhushi, Consuma AI is transforming how brands understand consumer behavior. Instead of relying on time-consuming surveys or expensive focus groups, the startup uses AI to analyze real-time digital behavior, delivering insights in just 30 minutes, at a fraction of the cost and scale.
The round also saw participation from prominent angel investors including Abhishek Goyal (Tracxn), Mekin Maheshwari (Flipkart), Harsh Shah (Fynd), Shiv Kapoor (Titan Capital), Biswa Kalyan Rath (Comedian), and others.
Sadhika Agarwal, Principal at Equirus InnovateX Fund, said, “Today’s brands need insights that move at the speed of consumer expectations”. She added, “Consuma AI gives them that decision-making power instantly”.
Consuma’s proprietary AI engine lets brand and research teams analyze over 1,000x more data at 1/10th the cost reducing month -long research cycles to just half an hour.

Equirus InnovateX Fund is a Rs 170 crore ($20M) SEBI-registered Category-I AIF focused on backing early stage startups in SaaS and deeptech. Other portfolio startups include Pointo (Battery Tech), Datazip (Lakehouse platform), and GreenStitch (ESG SaaS).
Consuma AI plans to use the funds to scale its platform and expand its customer base, helping more brands unlock smarter, faster insights.
