Defense tech startup Sharang Shakti mops up Rs.5 crore in pre-seed funding round

Noida based defense targeted robotics driven startup Sharang Shakti has recently raised Rs.5 crore in a pre-seed funding round led by AUM Ventures and Venture Highway. The round also witnessed the participation of JK Group’s Family office and other angel investors.

The company informed in a press release that, the recently secured fund will be utilized in product development and expanding the team.

The startup was established in 2023 by Karan Goyal, Chirag Singla, Jitendra Singh, Gaurav Kumar, and Rishabh Choudhary. The startup is designed as a defense robotics startup, aiming to innovate in airspace surveillance and airborne threat mitigation.

Presently, the startup is producing an anti-drone system that will detect, track, and neutralize hostile drones. With this new produces the company is marking the first of several products in its development pipeline.

The Gurugram-based company aims to focus on building a comprehensive technology stack which will enable the development of a wide range of robotic systems for defense applications and to build next-gen Lockheed Martin from India.

Earlier this month, Indusbridge Ventures, a defense technology-focused company, joined forces with US-based deep-tech venture builder FedTech to introduce the ‘I2A Launchpad’ program. The initiative aims to support Indian dual-use startups.

The company is eyeing on to develop few comprehensive technologies for defense application. They are also creating a wide range of robotic technology based defense product.

The company’s future goals include establishing India as a powerhouse of technology and defense hub for next-generation defense technology, similar to global giants like Lockheed Martin.
