Dubey's Superhealth Targets Rs 13 Crore Seed Round

- Ex-Ola CMO Varun Dubey launches Superhealth Hospitals to disrupt India’s healthcare delivery model.
- Startup in talks to raise Rs 12–13 crore seed funding from Sparrow Capital.
- Backed by former Practo leaders, the venture aims to build low-cost, high-reach hospital chains.
Varun Dubey, erstwhile Chief Marketing Officer at Ola, has become an entrepreneur with the launch of Superhealth Hospitals Pvt Ltd, a Bengaluru-based healthcare startup which plans to create a chain of hospitals. The company is reportedly in talks to raise Rs 12–13 crore seed funding from Sparrow Capital, a leading early-stage venture capital firm, sources close to the development said.
Dubey comes with a strong healthcare background, having worked in top leadership positions at Practo before and being the Chief Revenue Officer at Apollo Hospitals. His new startup aims to shake up the old way of healthcare delivery by establishing small-format hospitals in cities with an emphasis on cost and maximum reach to patients.
In a mysterious post on LinkedIn marked under "Stealth Mode," Dubey explained his reason:
"Bucking down into why healthcare sucks so badly and fixating on how to make it better for patients and physicians because it feels like both of them are trapped in this terrible system."
Though information regarding the company and funding is under the wraps, this is for the first time that such information surfaced.
Dubey's not doing it on his own. He's supported by former Practo team members, including Practo Chief Strategy Officer Dr. Alexander Kuruvilla and Manoj Kumar Gangasandra, another Practo veteran who now describes himself as being part of a "Stealth Startup" to enhance healthcare.
A veteran professional, Dubey has also worked at Qualcomm and Nvidia over his decade-long career. His entry into the healthtech space adds to a growing list of ex-executives turning founders. For instance, Nirmal NR, former head of Zoomcar India, is building Preventify, an AI-powered primary care solution aimed at small-town India, starting with Kerala.
As competition heats up in India's hospital and healthtech markets already dominated by long-established giants Dubey's startup will be watched closely to determine whether it can establish a meaningful niche in this changing arena.
