EdTech Firm SplashLearn Raises $18 Million from Owl Ventures

Edtech startup, SplashLearn, has raised $18 million in Series C funding round led by Owl Ventures, a San Francisco-based VC fund that focuses on edtech sector. The round also saw participation from existing investors Accel.

Based in Gurugram, SplashLearn was founded in 2010 by Arpit Jain, Joy Deep Nath, Mayank Jain and Umang Jain. The company has created a scientifically-designed game-based curriculum spanning Pre-K to Grade 5 for math and reading. The startup has over 4,000 curriculum-aligned games and activities.

Speaking about the funding, Arpit Jain, CEO and co-founder, SplashLearn, said, “We envision a world where every child would learn, fearlessly. The games within the program aim to shift the current narrative around learning, turning it into an experience that augments the child's desire to learn by making learning itself rewarding for every child. Thus reducing their fear of failure, and creating what we like to call fearless learners.”

SplashLearn intends to utilize the fresh capital towards various growth initiatives.
