Emversity Secures $5M to Bridge Education-Employment Gap

Beyond Odds Technologies, the parent company of Emversity, a fast-growing skill-based education platform, has raised $5 million in a Pre-Series A funding round. The round was co-led by Z47 and Lightspeed, with additional participation from Alteria Capital and Innoven Capital.
This funding milestone follows a breakout inaugural year for Emversity, which has already scaled to 36 campuses across 18 states in India. With a strong foothold in healthcare training, Emversity is expanding into Travel & Hospitality, furthering its mission to bridge skill gaps across vital sectors of the economy. The company is poised to reach over 75 campuses by the end of this financial year.
Through its flagship Emversity School of Allied Health Sciences, students are trained for high-demand roles such as nurses, lab technicians, paramedics, OT technicians, and caregivers. Recently, the company launched the Emversity School of Hospitality, partnering with two global hotel giants to deliver industry-relevant training in room operations, food & beverage services, and culinary arts across nine campuses.
Founded by Vivek Sinha, ex-COO of Unacademy, Emversity is tackling the education-to-employment gap by embedding technology-driven, work-integrated training programs into degree offerings at Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). Sinha frames the challenge as a “three-pronged problem” — limited capacity, lack of affordability, and outdated curricula. Emversity’s solution combines employer-sponsored stipends, industry-aligned curriculum, and Centres of Excellence to address these challenges head-on.
“In a sector rife with unmet promises, we differentiate through outcomes and quality,” said Sinha. “We are relentlessly focused on delivering top-tier training and employment results — scale will follow naturally.”
Harsha Kumar, Partner at Lightspeed, commented:
“Vivek and his team are solving a fundamental disconnect between higher education and employment. By aligning their training infrastructure with real industry demand, Emversity is building a job-ready workforce for critical sectors. Their potential for exponential impact is immense.”
Rajat Agarwal, Managing Director at Z47, led the investment alongside Chandrasekhar Venugopal, Principal at Z47. Chandrasekhar added:
“From our first meeting, Vivek’s clarity on solving the education-employment gap stood out. In under a year, Emversity has transformed a bold idea into a national platform with real outcomes and sound unit economics. We’re proud to deepen our partnership as Emversity scales in both size and impact.”
