- The startup blends traditional pickle making with tech led quality control and clean label practices.
- Recognized nationally and globally, FarmDidi aims to empower 1 million rural women.
FarmDidi, a fast growing D2C pickle brand rooted in rural empowerment, has raised Rs 7 crore in a seed funding round led by Samved Ventures. The round also saw participation from LetsVenture, Indigram Labs, IIM Calcutta Innovation Park, and several angel investors.
With this fresh capital, the startup plans to strengthen its team, invest in research and development, and enhance its tech based quality systems. A key goal is to expand its network of rural women entrepreneurs from 2,000 to over 5,000 in the next few years.
Founded in 2022 by Manjari Sharma, Anukrit Johari, and Asmita Ghodeshwar, FarmDidi brings a modern twist to a traditional Indian staple, the humble pickle. The brand partners with women in rural areas to produce small batch, farm fresh pickles that are free from chemicals and preservatives. These are then quality checked using technology to ensure consistency and food safety.
Currently, FarmDidi fulfills over 30,000 orders a month and operates at an ARR of Rs 18 crore. It is also the No 1 pickle brand on Amazon India, holding 4 of the top 10 bestseller spots. FarmDidi products are available on Blinkit, Zepto, BigBasket, and Swiggy Instamart.
Investors believe FarmDidi’s model solves a key gap in the self-help group (SHG) ecosystem by combining purpose with scale. “It’s a scalable, tech first brand delivering traceable food and creating livelihoods for rural women”, said Amit Srivastava, Partner at Samved Ventures.
