Fireflies.ai, the AI meeting assistant that 75% of Fortune 500 companies rely on, has hit a $1 billion valuation after its first-ever tender offer representing a big milestone for future-proof workplace productivity solutions. The news is followed by the launch of its latest feature, Talk to Fireflies, its voice-based AI assistant with real-time web search via Perplexity.
In the fast-paced, remote-first working world of today where decisions are made by meetings, instant access to reliable information can significantly enhance results. Fireflies seeks to satisfy this need by eliminating the friction of tool switching or delaying decisions because data is not available. Through Talk to Fireflies, users can now pose questions during meetings and get immediate, sourced replies enabling teams to work smarter and move faster.
Seamless AI Conversations Meet Live Search
The feature lets users chat or talk with Fireflies in more than 60 languages on mainstream channels such as Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams. With its integration with Perplexity's search engine, Fireflies now provides real-time web answers without participants ever having to exit the meeting window.
"Fireflies allows participants to pose context questions such as, 'What decisions we made so far?' or 'What are the AI meeting tool market growth forecasts?'" said Krish Ramineni, CEO and co-founder of Fireflies. "This makes Fireflies the most informed team player in the room."
Seconding this feeling, Perplexity's Chief Business Officer Dmitry Shevelenko said, "Meetings are where decisions often get made, but they are missing in real-time information. With our search integration, Fireflies eliminates app-switching and delaying action ushering a question-first, decision-ready space into the modern meeting."
