Goa-based SaaS startup Spintly raises Rs 4.6 crore funding in Seed round led by Silicon Valley

Smart buildings and physical protection software, Spintly has raised Rs 4.6 crore in an extended seed round led by Silicon Valley's Riso Capital, with participation from Hyderabad's SucSEED Innovation Fund, Chicago's Nikhand Investments, and the Keiretsu Forum angel network.

The startup uses the funds to boost sales, marketing, and research activities in order to enhance its position in the wireless cloud-based access control technology space.

Spintly brings an enterprise-grade Access Control as a Service (ACaaS) stack offering to a growing building automation market. The stack is versatile to run on various hardware topologies including Bluetooth mesh and other native IP protocols," said Sri Purisai, founder and partner, Riso Capital.

Goa-based Spintly offers SaaS-based physical security solutions that allow for smartphone-based door entry, removing the need for key cards and complicated access control wiring. For access control, Spintly provides a completely wireless mesh technology that can also be used for smart building applications.

Spintly provides a "SMART ACCESS" control system which allows easy and secure entry to modern workplace area. It allows unleashing the power of a smartphone by converting it into a smart access card.

Rohin Parkar and Malcolm Dsouza formed Spintly in 2017. Before returning to India, both founders worked in the wireless technology industry in the United States. Brigade REAP, a property software accelerator, is guiding the startup. The software uses a fully wireless back-end system eliminating the need for wired Weigand standard.

We provide fully wireless mesh technology for access control which can also be used for smart building applications, and have been witnessing a steady growth in demand for contactless door access solutions," said Rohin Parkar, co-founder and chief executive officer at Spintly.

“Touchless authentication and access control is a big need of the post-Covid world. Spintly's technology has applicability across all geographic markets and in several verticals with additional potential from a future data play," Srikanth Rajan of Keiretsu Forum said.
