Planet Marathi OTT, a Marathi OTT platform has bagged $5 million in a new funding round directed by USA-based A&MA Capital USA, a private equity firm.

Also, the platform has partnered up with media-tech firm Dcafe to further advancements of its technological capacities.

This strategic transaction signifies one of the greater investments in the regional entertainment sector in India to-date, the platform said in a statement. It projects this initial outlay to expand over the upcoming two quarters.

Planet Marathi OTT that offers a high-ended platform for Marathi industry’s talent and stories worldwide. Also the company plans to utilize the investment to empower its content library and infrastructure of technology.

Established by Akshay Bardapurkar, Planet Marathi OTT privileges to have the largest and most valued library on OTT platform for Marathi content and it delivers content in diverse genres such as romance, politics, comedy, family drama, satire and thriller.

Presenting headings across the genres, Planet Marathi OTT is known for its attractive and unique content such as Goshta Eka Paithanichi and Raanbaazaar.

The partnered company, Dcafe is a US-headquartered OTT technology provider that assists platform to achieve and deliver high-demand and live streaming videos.

Bardapurkar states that this collaboration will further the boost the startup to hardern its its position in the tech-enabled landscape of entertainment.

Earlier to this funding, Planet Marathi has bagged $5 million from Singapore-based Vistas Media Capital – VMC in the year 2020.
