Darwinbox, an enterprise HRtech platform has raised $15 million in a funding round led by US giant Salesforce’s venture arm Salesforce Ventures. The investment marked Salesforce Venture’s maiden foray in the Indian market and the only investment in Asia outside of Japan.

The company said in a statement, “Darwinbox is one of Salesforce’s first investments in the APAC region and we can’t think of a better partner as we grow. Given their leadership in the cloud, they’ve accumulated a tremendous amount of knowledge over the years. We believe that this knowledge will catalyse learning for us at a massive scale and allow us to maximize the value we can deliver to you”.

Bangalore based Darwinbox is a cloud-based human resource management platform. The company was founded in 2015 by former investment banker Jayant Paleti, former EY executive Chaitanya Peddi and ex McKinsey Consultant and Googler, Rohit Chennamaneni. Darwinbox has so far raised a total funding of $35 million and counts Sequoia Capital, Lightspeed India, Endiya Partners, and 3one4 Capital as its backers.

Darwinbox’s HCM platform is leveraged by over 500 clients to automate day-to-day HR processes, simplify human interactions, deliver actionable insights to build better workplaces and achieve their strategic HR goals faster and smarter. The company has worked for companies including Adani Wimar, Myntra, Dr Reddy’s, Arvind, Emcure, BhartiAxa, Bisleri among various others and serves over 25 industry verticals.
