JBM ECOLIFE Mobility joins hands with ADB & AIIB to raise $100 million strategic funding

JBM ECOLIFE Mobility which is the subsidiary of JBM Auto Limited and electric bus mobility has recently collected $100 million strategic funding from Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB).

Currently, the company has become a significant player in the EV Ecosystem and earning a good name for itself.

According to the statement of the company they will use the newly accumulated proceeds for supplying and operating electric buses under the Gross Cost Contract (GCC) model in multiple states across India in a phased manner.

The area of development effortlessly lined up with the company’s vision and mission and giving effort to take up green public mobility revolution to the grassroots level in India.

Recently, JBM has deployed over 1,500 electric buses across 10 states and 15+ major airports in India. The company has been maintaining 6500+electric buses deployed and under execution.

In the global stage the company has set up largest dedicated integrated electric bus manufacturing facility in the Delhi-NCR region. The company informed that facility has an annual production capacity of 20,000 electric buses.

The Vice Chairman & Managing Director, JBM Group, Nishant Arya commented, “We are grateful to ADB and AIIB for their continued support in advancing sustainable public transportation across India.”

He also added that, the organization said it has been focused on introducing zero-emission technologies to promote sustainable development and responsible growth. They highlighted their pioneering role in electric mobility in India and the creation of a complete EV ecosystem to accelerate deployment across regions.

Arya also mentioned that, the company is eyeing on to play a significant role in achieving India’s Net Zero 2070 target.

He told, “Our electric buses will continue to lead India’s e-mobility momentum towards taking clean public mobility solutions to the grassroots level.”
ADB Director General for Private Sector Operations Department Suzanne Gaboury said, “Supporting electric buses is an investment not only in sustainable transport but also in public health through cleaner air and in climate action through lower emissions. By promoting e-mobility, ADB is helping communities reduce their carbon footprint, improve public transport, and build eco-friendly urban infrastructure.”

This partnership will help JBM Group to build a clean,safe, and inclusive public transport system in India.

Director General of global Project and Corporate Finance at AIIB, Najeeb Haider, said, “This association focuses on accelerating the adoption of clean energy public mobility solutions directed towards enhancing the quality of life in urban & semi-urban cities. We aim to set a precedent for future green infrastructure projects in India, this one being a transformative project that will drive sustainable and resilient development”.
