MedTech Startup 'Prodancy' lifts Rs. 2.14 crore Funding
The Prodancy, a pioneering MedTech startup specializing in surgical consumables for joint replacement surgeries, has successfully raised 2.14 crore in a funding round led by Campus Angels Network and Keiretsu Forum Chennai. Existing investors Center for Cellular & Molecular Platforms (C-CAMP) and other angel investors also participated.
Prodancy, founded by Pradeep Vamana and Venkatesh Parthasarathy, aims to redefine surgical consumables with a focus on affordability and innovation. The company's flagship product, Vizbl, is the world's lightest surgical helmet, boasting a 40% reduction in weight and a 50% reduction in cost compared to its competitors.
The helmet's distinctive absence of chin-bars ensures superior comfort and protection for surgeons during prolonged joint replacement procedures, addressing crucial ergonomic and safety concerns.
This investment will propel Prodancy's expansion in India while advancing its plans to expand into global markets, including the United States. With an impressive 22% compound annual growth rate for joint replacement surgeries in India, Prodancy is poised to capitalize on this momentum with its innovative portfolio products.
Since its debut in early 2023, the Vizbl helmet has made remarkable advancements, resulting in the sale of over 230 units and the execution of over 12,000 surgeries utilizing the technology in India's premier hospitals. Prodancy is now preparing to meet international regulatory requirements for its planned entry into global markets and is scaling its operations.
Gowtham Sarvesh, the Chief Operating Officer of Keiretsu Forum Chennai & Singapore, observed, "Prodancy exemplifies resilience and ingenuity in MedTech." By departing from conventional incubators, they have achieved EBITDA-positive growth through a sophisticated distribution strategy and significant innovations. We are proud to support their expansion and their focus on affordability.
