MSME Sector in Kerala observes Investments crossing INR 4,500 cr

Team StartupCityMSMEs (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises) in Kerala are to witness a favourable future, with the investments crossing INR 4,500. The state Industries Minister E.P. Jayarajan mentioned in his comment that more than 4,500 crores were invested in this sector which sparked off over 1.80 lakh employment scopes. Considering which he commented, “In this sector, since we came, more than Rs 4,500 crore was invested and it provided over 1.80 lakh jobs. In Kerala, the MSME sector is looking bright and we are looking forward for more and more investments. We are expecting non-resident Keralites, who are potential investors, to set up new units,” Jayarajan said.
Since the MSME sector is often referred to as the mainstay of every developing country, special attention is required and beyond any doubt also conferred to them. The centre has been disbursing significant support to all the micro, small and medium enterprises in India. With various facilities render to them, the future of MSMEs in Kerala is quite prosperous. “Since the Pinarayi Vijayan-led Left Democratic government assumed office in 2016, as many as 52,137 MSME units of various scales and sizes have opened. The proactive Vijayan government is doing everything to see that the ease of doing business is best in Kerala,” he mentions.

For all new investors in the MSME sector the government has introduced new laws which allow the investing of INR 10 crores by completing simple formalities like filing an affidavit with the District Collector. “Investors need not wait for getting the licenses and clearances and this they need to get it in six months after the three year period ends. This is done to see that investors do not waste time waiting for all clearances to come to start. However, no units that fall under the red category of the State Pollution Board will be allowed,” says Jayarajan.

Jayarajan has also mentioned that they will soon be highlighting the success stories of the various MSMEs and make significant efforts to support the promotion and marketing of products manufactured by MSMEs.
