MyMuse Secures $2.7 Million in Largest Pre-Series A Funding Round
Direct-to-consumer brand MyMuse, specializing in sexual wellness, has effectively secured a Pre-Series A funding round of $2.7 million (roughly INR 22.4 crore) from Trifecta Capital and Kunal Shah, the founder of CRED. This funding round, comprising both debt and equity capital, received continued backing from existing investors such as Saama Capital, Sauce VC, and Whiteboard Capital, among others. The capital infusion aims to propel various facets of MyMuse's operations, including optimizing inventory management, enhancing its omnichannel presence, and broadening distribution networks across India. Moreover, these funds will facilitate the diversification of the product portfolio and increase brand visibility through comprehensive online and offline marketing initiatives.
Founded in 2021 by Sahil Gupta and Anushka Gupta, MyMuse has made a mark with its gender-neutral sexual wellness products, offering a collection of over 25 items accompanied by educational resources. Sahil Gupta remarked, "The consistently high demand for our products highlights a significant disparity between supply and demand in our industry. Our analysis of product adoption data, especially in tier III cities, underscores the crucial gap we aim to address, which has long been overlooked in India".
Echoing this sentiment, Anushka Gupta emphasized the substantial support from the community that MyMuse has received over recent years, indicating a growing openness among Indians to prioritize sexual wellness as an integral aspect of their overall well-being. The startup has experienced a robust 15% month-on-month growth and has served more than 150,000 customers across 800 cities, spanning tier I, II, and III markets. MyMuse attributes its success to an innovative and cost-effective product range, revitalizing an otherwise outdated and fragmented industry.
