Team StartupcityTerra.do, an edutech startup focused on educating professions on critical climate issues announced on Friday that it raised $1.4 million in Seed funding. This round of funding was led by India based angel network Stanford Angels & Entrepreneurs, Singapore-based VC firm Beenext and Zerodha backed early stage technology fund Rainmatter Capital. Terra.do also piqued the interest of renowned angel investors including DeeP Kalra, CEO, Makemytrip; Deepinder Goyal, CEO, Zomato; Ashish Gupta, Co-Founder, Helion Venture Partners; Rashmi
Sinha, Founder & CEO, Slideshare and Mekin Maheshwari, former Chief People Officer of Flipkart among others who also participated in this round of funding.

Founded by Anshuman Bapna, Mayank Jain and Kamal Kapadia, a teacher of climate change at Oxford University, the young company conducts four month long online courses (cohorts) taught by industry experts from various fields such as policy, energy, sustainability, agriculture etc. Covering important facets such as science, policy, social justice and business, these cohorts help users become part of a global community of climate change makers. Participants get introduced to various projects being conducted by global climate organizations that they can join. The objective is to empower concerned professionals to gain relevant knowledge and thus transition into climate careers.

“Climate change is such a ‘wicked’ problem because both the problems and solutions are so deeply interconnected. That’s why we were keen to get investors on board that reflected that diversity of experience, geography, and mindset. And most importantly, we wanted partners in this journey that knew a thing or two about the “do” part of Terra - operators with real-world experience building great companies and communities. We’re lucky to have these incredible individuals and institutions onboard,”
saud Anshuman Bapna, Founder, Terra.do, in a statement.
