Phantom Digital Effects Ltd. (PhantomFX), one of the top Indian visual effects (VFX) and animation houses, raised Rs 59.99 crore through a Qualified Institutional Placement (QIP) as part of its aggressive international growth plans. The proceeds will be utilized to strengthen its global footprint, invest in state-of-the-art creative technology, and consolidate its leadership status in global VFX market.
It was started by Bejoy Arputharaj in 2011, and PhantomFX has produced VFX and animation services for over 300 movies and digital content in Hollywood, Bollywood, and South Indian cinema. With a reputation for delivering work on big-budget titles such as Baahubali, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, and a number of Marvel and DC films, the studio has become one of India's leading creative powerhouses in a short period of time.
With this new injection of capital, PhantomFX aims to:
– Scale operations in priority international markets such as North America, Europe, and Southeast Asia
– Add depth to its talent pool by recruiting senior creative leadership and specialist VFX artists
– Invest in AI-facilitated pipelines, virtual production, and real-time rendering technologies
