Primebook Raises $2M to Power Student Laptops

Separator
Primebook, the Android laptop brand powered by Android, which made a splash on Shark Tank India, has raised $2 million in a pre-Series A funding round involving equity and debt. The funding had the participation of Inflection Point Ventures, Auxano Capital, NexG Devices, and well-known angel investors like Rikant Pittie (CEO & Co-founder, EaseMyTrip) and Bhavesh Gupta (ex-COO, Paytm).

Previously, Primebook had raised Rs75 lakh in investment from Shark Tank India judges Peyush Bansal and Aman Gupta.

"India is still dealing with issues of lack of access to cheap computing devices, weak internet connectivity in rural areas, and the requirement for localized and student-centric solutions in 2025. Primebook is addressing these challenges through affordable laptops with 4G connectivity, a desktop experience based on Android, and facilities such as parental controls," stated Ankur Mittal, Co-founder, Inflection Point Ventures.

Student-First Computing, Made in India

Primebook was established by Chitranshu Mahant and Aman Verma with a vision to democratize access to digital learning through smart, accessible laptops that are specifically crafted for students and young digital learners. Its products operate on PrimeOS, a proprietary Android-based operating system that is designed for education.

With a passion for making things both affordable and accessible, Primebook has taken a reported 5% share of the under-Rs20,000 laptop segment in the last two years, doubling its growth year-on-year.
Mittal added, "Primebook devices are manufactured in India by PLI-approved vendors. The company is focused on empowering students in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities accessing a large and underpenetrated market segment."
