Pune-based gaming studio SuperGaming has achieved a major milestone as its first-person shooter game MaskGun surpasses 100 million downloads globally across Google Play and Apple’s App Store. The game has also recorded 40 million in-game playing hours, highlighting its widespread engagement among players.

MaskGun runs on SuperGaming’s proprietary SuperPlatform, designed to support large-scale multiplayer experiences. “The best part about MaskGun has never been the guns or the maps; it’s the people. Their friendships, rivalries, and stories have made this journey special”, said Roby John, CEO and Co-founder of SuperGaming.

The studio’s portfolio includes other popular titles such as Indus the Indo-Futuristic Battle Royale, which has crossed 9 million downloads, along with Battle Stars, Tower Conquest, and Silly Royale. Cumulatively, SuperGaming’s games have been downloaded over 200 million times. The company employs 120 people across Pune and Singapore.

In a significant boost, SuperGaming raised $15 million in a Series B funding round, valuing the company at $100 million. The round included participation from prominent investors like a16z Speedrun, Bandai Namco 021 Fund, GFR Fund, IVC Japan, Neowiz, Loud.GG, Barings, and Steadview Capital. Web3 ecosystem stakeholders, including Polygon Ventures, Sandeep Nailwal, and 32-Bit Ventures, also joined. Returning investors such as SkyCatcher, AET Japan, and BACE Capital participated as well.

This Series B follows SuperGaming’s $5.5 million Series A round in October 2021, reflecting continued confidence in the studio’s ability to expand its gaming ecosystem and create engaging experiences for players worldwide.
