Samsung India Looks Forward for 35 per cent refrigerator market share in 2020

Team StartupCityThe country’s electronics major Samsung India recently pocketed 33.9 per cent market share in Quarter 3 and Quarter 4 of last year in order to attain the position of top refrigerator player in the nation and looks forward to gain 35 per cent market share in the early quarter of the fiscal year 2020 as it observed the demand from the towns increasing in grate strides.

In the view of Raju Pullan, Senior Vice President, Samsung India, the expectations are met across the prototypes and the latest range of refrigerators provides meaningful 'Make for India' innovations that not only offer more storage space but are engineered to consume less energy.

"We achieved the top slot in the Indian market in H2 2019 with securing 33.9 per cent market share.
With the new range, we expect to garner 35 per cent market share in the first half of this year," IANS reports Pullan saying.

The company owns the pride of bringing back the country’s first frost-free refrigerator with facilities like strand drawer, "We now see great demand coming from smaller towns, tier II and tier III cities, where people want more storage in refrigerators. Our new range is an attempt to address those needs," said Pullan.

The frost-free refrigerator along with several options like base stand drawer is meeting the Indian client’s visual expectation with a tall-boy design and rich look. Meeting the need for different designs and patterns, the line-up will be available in various design patterns, with capacity of 253 litres.

IANS reports that the five-star direct cool single-door refrigerators are in line with new 2020 Energy norms with capacity of 198 litres. The new refrigerator line-up is available across retail channels and on Samsung Shop and will range from Rs 17,990 for the new 198 litre direct cool single-door refrigerator and Rs 45,990 for the smart convertible 5-in-1 model.

The model is designed with digital inverter technology that caters to long power cut issues, i.e, the technology would make the product work with home invertors and solar energy with reduced power consumption.

The new range is allotted with a decade warranty on the compressor and digital inverter technology with stabiliser-free operations.
