  • Wastelink raises fresh funding in Series A round led by Avaana Capital.
  • Funds to support national expansion, R&D, and AI powered supply chain.
  • Over 35,000 tons of food waste already converted into animal feed.

Wastelink, a food upcycling startup under Forplanet Ingredients, has been backed with Rs 27 crore ($3 million) in Series A funding from Avaana Capital. The funds will be used to support its expansion across India, enhance research and development, and improve its AI enabled supply chain technology.

The startup has developed a proprietary platform that transforms food surplus into ECOMIX, a standardized and traceable feed input. This ingredient offers consistent nutritional value for livestock, helping shield farmers and manufacturers from market driven price swings and feed quality fluctuations.

Since its inception in 2018, Wastelink has upcycled more than 35,000 tons of food waste into animal feed. The company’s products currently support over 38,500 animals annually, with observed improvements in milk yields by up to 15%.

The Indian animal feed industry continues to rely on traditional ingredients like maize and soy, both of which are vulnerable to climate risks and market instability. Wastelink’s model addresses these issues by creating a more reliable and sustainable feed supply chain.

Founder and CEO Saket stated that the funding would drive Wastelink’s mission to build resilience in India’s animal nutrition sector. Co-founder Krishnan added that their model combines technology, science, and circular economy principles to deliver dependable solutions for the industry.

Swapna Gupta, Partner at Avaana Capital, emphasized Wastelink’s potential to reshape the feed sector. By converting food waste into high quality inputs, the company is contributing to a more sustainable and future-ready food system.

The investment reflects growing interest in climate resilient agritech and circular economy startups within India's evolving food and agriculture ecosystem.
