Gurugram-based Watertech startup Boon has brought $5 million up in a Series A financing round. The cycle, a blend of value and debt, was driven by Spanish-based Roca Group Ventures, with cooperation from different financial backers.

Boon, earlier known as Swajal, had prior brought $1.6 million up in a financing round back in February 2021 that intends to utilize the raised funding to scale its Artificial intelligence empowered WaterIoT platform, which helps purifiers in checking the quality of water with application-based quality changes, guaranteeing high proficiency and dependability in water filtration frameworks.

The startup intends to supplant plastic-packed water with sustainable practical solutions. It uses its protected advances, including predictive filter maintenance using AI, to accomplish this objective.

Established in 2015 by Vibha Tripathy and Advait Kumar, Boon focuses on remote water decontaminating, checking, and apportioning products. The startup’s WaterIoT item assists purifiers with checking the quality of each and every drop of water continuously. Boon guarantees that this innovation makes sanitized water less expensive than purchasing plastic water bottles.

Boon launched the WaterATM, a community-based water cleaning station in India, and gives reasonable glass water solutions for hotels. The startup works with significant workplaces, medical clinics, colleges, air terminals, and train stations to give reasonable hydration arrangements

Regarding this, Roca Group Ventures, “We are excited on this first investment in an Indian start-up with Boon. Their advanced approach to water purification with a clear inclination towards sustainability and technological innovation is commendable. We believe in Boon’s potential to revolutionize the WaterTech industry and we are eager to support their growth and expansion”.

Similarly, Co-Founder of Boon, Advait Kumar says, “Water has taken a back seat and lately it has been feeling like we are passive spectators when it comes to water quality, plastic bottles, or microplastics in drinking water. We are very excited to have partnered with Roca in our efforts to challenge the status quo of drinking water”.
