
Welkinrim Raises Rs 4.76 Crore to Boost Drone Innovation

- Chennai based Welkinrim raises Rs 4.76 crore in fresh funding led by GSF.

Welkinrim, a deep-tech startup developing advanced propulsion subsystems for drones, has raised Rs 4.76 crore in its latest funding round. The investment was led by GSF, with participation from Campus Angels Network, AC Ventures, and Forge Innovation and Ventures .
Incubated at the IIT Madras Incubation Cell, Welkinrim focuses on high performance motors and electronic speed controllers, key components that power drones used in defence, agriculture, surveillance, and logistics.
The fresh capital will be used to scale in-house manufacturing, strengthen the engineering team, and set up advanced testing infrastructure. The startup also plans to validate its products with leading Indian drone OEMs while exploring partnerships with international manufacturers.
Dinesh Natarajan,Founder and CEO of Welkinrim, said, “This funding will help us move our propulsion subsystems from lab to market, while keeping performance, efficiency, and safety at the core”.

Investors see Welkinrim as a critical player in India’s UAV ecosystem. K. Chandran, MD at Campus Angels Network, highlighted that the startup’s precision engineering makes it well-placed to serve growing drone adoption across sectors. Nirmal Shah, Partner at GSF, added that Welkinrim is solving a crucial gap in India’s UAV supply chain with strong global potential.
As drone usage expands across defence and commercial markets, Welkinrim aims to become the go-to OEM for propulsion systems, ensuring reliable and scalable solutions for the industry.
