A mother gives birth to her child, nurtures him, make him able to survive in this vast world full of darks and lights. The same way, this mother earth is taking minute care of the humans and nurturing us to live a healthy contented life. In return, we are delivering toxic fumes of vehicles, pollutions, radioactive contamination, and heap of toxic chemical garbage, unfiltered sewage and what not. Day in and day out, we are destructing the serenity of natural environment which is the holder and bearer of this earth.

The earth is drooling, it is tearing apart from inside, it is weeping for help. But Alas! The humans are busy with creation, innovation, and technology and constantly extracting oozing enthusiasm of environment and returning nothing but perilous poisons. The time has arrived to wake up and check ourselves, before it is too late.

“We are the first generation to feel the impact of climate change and the last generation that can do something about it.”— Barack Obama

Lend a Hand to ‘Save the Planet’

To aware the unconscious nations across the world towards the dreadful cry of mother earth, in 1972, the UN General Assembly designated 5th June as the ‘World Environment Day’. The first celebration of this day took place on 1973 under the theme of ‘Only One Earth’. These small but indispensable steps are helping us to scrutinize and check our activities which are going against the nature. This year, UNEP fixed the theme called land restoration, stopping desertification, and building drought resilience.

UNEP in their statement shared, ''Up to 40% of the planet’s land is degraded, directly affecting half of the world’s population. Land restoration is a key pillar of the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration (2021-2030), a rallying call for the protection and revival of ecosystems all around the world, which is critical to achieve the Sustainable Development goals.''
