Ameliorate Biotech raises 2 crore as angel investment

Team StartupcityAmeliorate biotech recently raised Rs 2 crore as angel investment from PadUP Ventures for their product ASSURED, a device used for detection of malaria, chikungunya and dengue. ASSURED (Affordable Sensitive Specific User-friendly Rapid/robust Equipment free Device) is a patented kit that can detect these three mosquitos borne diseases on the first day of symptom, in 10 minutes.

The company is founded by Rashbehari Tunga and Binita Shrivastava Tunga, both bio-tech
scientists. When the couple lost their 11-year-old niece to dengue, they decided to work on
developing ASSURED, with an intention to provide lowcost diagnostics for the people in the bottom of the pyramid.

PadUp Ventures is a knowledge and mentoring platform that helps incubators and accelerators with structured, process-driven programs to build tech startups. The company has mentored startups and has used technologies like AI, Blockchain, ML etc. It has partnered with incubators across government and educational institutions as well as corporates.

In a statement, Pankaj Thakar, co-founder of PadUp said, "This is just the beginning for Ameliorate and there are many more milestones to cover."
This is Vinners' 11th investment. In a statement, Harvinderjit Bhatia chairperson, Vinners said, "We saw potential in the idea and the team and they are serving a good cause. The CEO of Ameliorate, Tunga, said, "The money raised will help us in concluding the clinical trials efficiently and in subsequent commercialisation of the kits."
