EV Startup Ultraviolette Automotive gets backing from GoFrugal CEO Kumar Vembu

Team StartupcityBangalore based EV startup Ultraviolette Automotive announced on Monday that it has received investment from Kumar Vembu, CEO, GoFrugal. This comes as a part of the company’s ongoing series B funding round through which it had raised INR 30 crore earlier in September.

The quantum of the current capital infusion however remains undisclosed. The EV startup’s association with Vembu had begun during its series A funding round in which Vembu had joined as an early investor along with TVS Motors.
Founded in 2015 by Narayan Subramaniam and Niraj Rajmohan, Ultraviolette Automotive is a tech startup working towards redefining personal mobility through its electric two wheelers and energy infrastructure. The company had revealed its latest two wheeler model F77, a high performance urban sports/commuter bike earlier this year and is now working towards launching it in the market.

“As the country moves towards smarter and sustainable transportation solutions, Ultraviolette Automotive is playing a distinct role in shaping the perception of electric vehicles, and consequently driving its adoption in India. The F77 is an evocative and compelling mobility alternative for consumers in India and since the unveiling, the company has made significant progress towards launching the motorcycle in the market,” said Kumar Vembu, CEO, GoFrugal.

Ultraviolette Automotive’s aim is to help influence the country and in due course of time, the world towards a smarter and more energy efficient future. “ …We will continue to push our boundaries on this front. Kumar Vembu’s investment comes at a great time as we work towards launching our motorcycle in the market and we look forward to a long-term association with him,” said Narayan Subramaniam in a statement.
