Fery Rides Raises Rs 2 Crore to Boost Safe, Green Mobility for Women

- IAN Angel Fund leads Rs 2.075 Crore seed funding round
- Women-only electric ride platform with over 65,000 rides completed
- Expansion planned beyond Gurugram with focus on onboarding more women drivers
Fery Rides, a women-led mobility startup based in Gurugram, has raised Rs 2.075 crore in a seed funding round led by IAN Angel Fund, part of the Indian Angel Network. The investment round saw participation from angel investors Hari Balasubramanian, Uday Chatterjee, and Sri Prakash.
Founded in April 2023 by Ajay Kumar, Vindhya Mehrotra, and Himanshu Chaubey, Fery Rides is focused on providing safe and eco-friendly rides exclusively for women, operated by trained and verified female drivers referred to as 'Sister Partners' on the platform.
The funding will help Fery strengthen its tech infrastructure, expand operations beyond Delhi NCR, and bring more women drivers on board. The app features real-time tracking, SOS alerts, and customer support via WhatsApp to ensure a safe and smooth ride experience.
The idea for Fery Rides was born after Ajay Kumar’s friend faced harassment during a cab ride. This incident sparked the vision to create a transport solution that puts women’s safety and empowerment at the core.

In just over a year, Fery has completed over 65,000 electric rides, empowered 250+ women drivers, and surpassed 50,000 app downloads. The startup currently operates in Gurugram, with plans to expand into Delhi and other metro cities. It has also teamed up with Sakha Cabs for airport rides and tested operations at the Mahakumbh in Prayagraj.
