HCL Tech acquires Sankalp Semiconductor for Rs 180 crore

Team StartupcityHubli based semiconductor design major major Sankalp is acquired by HCL Technologies for INR 180 crore. The acquisition of company with turnover of 141.2 crore is likely to be completed by the month of October.

The deal would lead to wider opportunities in electronic components industry with Sankalp’s Analog power and HCL’s Digital Chips. It would help them gain market share in VLSI designings.

“Sankalp will complement our strong semiconductor offerings and help offer a wider range of services to
our customers in the Analog and Mixed signal space,” said GH Rao, President – Engineering and R&D Services, HCL Technologies.
“Sankalp will operate as a 100% subsidiary of HCL” he added.

Sankalp is a major solution provider of automotive, consumer, Internet of Things, medical electronics and many other electronic essentials. The cognitive logic behind this acquisition would enable HCL to further expand into many other markets. Especially combining both the analog and digital modules with engineering and R&D services stated the company.

"The strategic acquisition will enable synergies between engineering teams allowing us to offer a broader semiconductor know-how, to a wider variety of customers. The joined forces will enable deeper engagements with customers in the end-to-end digital and mixed signal design space," said Samir Patel, CEO Sankalp Semiconductor.
