Music licensing platform Hoopr has secured Rs 4 crore in the first tranche of its extended Pre-Series A round, led by Inflection Point Ventures (IPV) with participation from family offices and existing investors. The company is also in advanced discussions to raise additional capital as part of this round. With this raise, Hoopr’s valuation has reached Rs 160 crore post-money, bringing its total funding to Rs 18 crore.

The Mumbai-based startup plans to use the fresh funds to scale Hoopr Smash, strengthen product innovation, expand its team, and push forward with its global growth plans. Hoopr aims to simplify music discovery and licensing for creators, brands, and businesses.

Founded in 2021 by Gaurav Dagaonkar and Meghna Mittal, Hoopr offers a growing catalog of over 12,000 copyright-free music tracks and sound effects. The platform supports both creators and musicians to get easy access to legally compliant music, while artists receive 50% of licensing fees after upfront costs are covered.

Hoopr Smash enhances user experience through smart discovery tools, curated playlists, and quick licensing, helping users find the right track faster. The company says this approach allows brands and creators to elevate their content while ensuring transparent and fair payouts for artists.

The platform has already onboarded 30,000+ creators, including well-known names like Chef Ranveer Brar, Ashish Vidyarthi, Tanya Khanijow, Flying Beast, and more. It also works with 180+ B2B clients, including Myntra, Marico, Sony LIV, Meesho, Mumbai Indians, Himalaya, and Cadbury.
