Neha Dhupia-Backed BlackCarrot Secures Fresh Funding to Spice Up India's Dinnerware Game

• BlackCarrot raised pre-seed funding from Venture Catalysts, We Founder Circle, and others with celebrity investors Neha Dhupia and Agnello Dias joining the cap table.
• The brand offers toxin-free dinnerware made from Bone China-free ceramics, lead-free glassware, and food-grade stainless steel, catering to health-conscious Indian consumers.
• Available on major platforms like Tata Cliq Luxury, Amazon, Myntra, and Zepto, BlackCarrot is scaling fast across D2C, marketplaces, offline retail, and quick commerce.
BlackCarrot, a fresh face in the direct-to-consumer (D2C) scene, is making waves as India’s first mass-premium dinnerware brand aimed at health-conscious folks. The startup has just wrapped up its pre-seed funding round, led by Venture Catalysts, a well-known incubator and accelerator in India.
This funding round also attracted some big names, including We Founder Circle, EvolveX Accelerator, GX Ventures, and Suraj Nalin, who co-founded PlaySimple Games. Adding a touch of celebrity, actress Neha Dhupia and advertising guru Agnello Dias, the former Chief Creative Officer at JWT, have hopped on board as investors. Notably, Neha made her initial investment in BlackCarrot back in April 2024.
A Safer and Stylish Dining Alternative
Founded by Yadupati Gupta, who previously worked as an investment banker at J.P. Morgan and Avendus Capital, alongside Vishal Gupta, the former Head of Marketing and Sales at Wipro Consumer Care and VIP Luggage Group, BlackCarrot is on a mission to redefine dinnerware for the contemporary Indian household. The brand offers ceramics free from Bone China, lead-free glassware, and cutlery and barware made from 304 food-grade stainless steel all while blending safety, style, and mindful living.
"BlackCarrot embodies conscious living a thoughtful mix of health, design, and Indian tradition. I’m thrilled to support a brand that’s changing the way we view the dining experience," shared Neha Dhupia.
Expanding Across Channels
Since its launch, BlackCarrot has rapidly broadened its reach across both online and offline platforms. You can now find its products on Tata Cliq Luxury, Myntra, Amazon, Flipkart, and Nykaa Fashion. On the physical front, they’ve made their way into premium retail spots like Nature’s Basket and Food Square. To boost delivery speed and convenience, the brand has teamed up with Zepto, the quick-commerce startup led by Aadit Palicha.
The fresh capital will be channeled into enhancing BlackCarrot’s omnichannel growth strategy, covering D2C channels and beyond.
