We often hear employees opting out, blaming it entirely on an extremely negative work culture. Every company, be it a start-up or a major corporate, need to provide a healthy and warm work culture to construct a comfortable space for the employees. Now, what does it exactly mean when we talk about the healthy work culture of a start-up? Is it only the flexible timings, cafeteria or the additional perks that make up a great workplace? Certainly not. A great workplace with a positive work culture is something beyond these. It is a mix of factors that affect the overall well-being and progress of an organization in terms of finance, growth, performance, profitability, amongst others. A positive culture values its employees and respects their contribution. This helps in creating a positive workplace for the employees where they feel acknowledged and valued and hence work happily.

Thus, it becomes exceedingly crucial for the management to ensure a robust work culture for their organizations that results in success. A lively and pleasant environment within the organization not only creates a favourable interaction among the employees but also enhances their physical and mental health.

Positive culture in a workplace can reduce the amounts of stress and, in turn, the instances of health problems. Healthy working relationship draws several other benefits; employees enjoy their work which eventually boosts proficiency; they are always positive and accept changes willingly. This ultimately makes them more creative and innovative.

When employees are happy in a positive workplace, they work harder, are more focused, and are more engaged in the work they need to do. When employees are unhappy, stressed, or exposed to a negative workplace environment, they tend to disengage, which negatively impacts productivity and the bottom line. Employees who are more engaged in their work also work more efficiently and make fewer mistakes. For every company, innovation, focus, and agility are the keys to judge the competency of an employee.

Many companies keep their employees working consistently at all hours of the day. Inflexible and airtight schedules do not allow for creativity or new ideas to grow. New ideas could turn into new products, service changes, or improvements to the business as a whole. Therefore, every company needs to define clear competencies for each role in a team.

It is important to enhance the role of management in the company. A manager looks after all the issues that prevail among the employees. Now the one thing that every manager needs to be reminded is to treat everyone equally, favouritism or peer-favours do not work inside an organization. Impartial management frames a placid work culture. Thus, a balance is very much required.
