  • CosMoss secured seed funding from Malika Sadani (The Moms Co.) and Pratham Mittal to expand its sea moss-based wellness product line in India.
  • The funds will support retail growth in metro cities, launch new India-specific product formats, and boost digital education around sea moss.
  • As one of the first movers, CosMoss aims to build a new wellness category in India focused on sea moss supplements through awareness, R&D, and regional variants.

CosMoss, a wellness brand focused on sea moss-based supplements, has raised seed funding from Malika Sadani, Founder of The Moms Co., the company announced in a press release. The funding round also saw participation from Pratham Mittal, Founder of Tetr College of Business and Masters’ Union.

The startup plans to utilize the capital to accelerate its retail footprint in key metro cities, raise awareness about sea moss in India’s growing wellness market, and launch new product formats tailored to local consumer preferences. With a focus on Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru as initial hubs, CosMoss aims to tap into the country’s increasing demand for functional and plant-based wellness products.

CosMoss was founded by a global team of entrepreneurs from Greece, Palestine, Serbia, Romania, and India. The brand offers vegan gummies formulated with sea moss an ingredient well-known across the US, Europe, and Africa for its nutritional benefits, but still a relatively new entrant in India’s supplement landscape.

The fresh funds will be deployed to strengthen CosMoss’s presence across direct-to-consumer platforms, quick commerce services, and premium offline retail. A significant portion will also go toward creating category awareness through digital campaigns, expert-led educational content, and partnerships aimed at integrating sea moss into India’s wellness narrative.

“CosMoss is entering the market at the right moment, with a format that reflects changing consumer expectations and a strong vision for building a new category in India”, said Malika Sadani. “The team brings clarity, speed, and a solid grasp of how this space is evolving, and that’s going to matter as the category takes shape”.

The company has already seen strong early traction through limited-access drops and pilot programs in select cities, with demand exceeding initial forecasts. Over the next 6 to 12 months, CosMoss aims to achieve double-digit month-on-month growth, supported by the setup of in-house production facilities and the development of regional sourcing partnerships to ensure long-term scalability.

“Sea moss is a well-established ingredient in global wellness markets, yet it remains largely overlooked in India”, said Mohammad Jueitem, Co-founder, CosMoss. “As one of the first entrants in this space, our goal is to build an entirely new category through trust, education, and relevance”.

CosMoss plans to expand to 10 cities and introduce region-specific variants by mid-next year.
