Edtech Startup AntWak Raises Seed Fund led by Matrix Partners India

Bengaluru-based experiential learning startup AntWak has raised more than a million dollars in its seed funding round led by Matrix Partners India. The round also saw participation from Kunal Shah, Founder, CRED, and Vaibhav Domkundwar, Founder, Better Capital.

Founded in 2020, AntWak is a byte-sized video platform for professionals to connect, interact, and share experiences thus helping them make better career decisions. The platform’s goal is to put together real ideas from real experts to help people gain knowledge and expertise on topics that matter to them.

The startup was founded by Basav Nagur, Joybroto Ganguly, Sudhanshu Shekhar, Sumit Gupta, and Sriramkumar Sundararaman. It offers paid and free professional courses across over 15 domains including digital marketing, cybersecurity, and data engineering created by experts, and senior professionals from companies such as HCL, Cognizant among others.

“We are a passionate set of educators focused on bridging the industry-academia gap through our experiential learning movement. Today, the movement brings together professionals from 500+ top brands. We are solving for Bharat by offering our live classes powered by these professionals who have been there and done it and that too at a fraction of the cost of available alternatives. This is made possible through our focus on creating a lean business model and a low-cost customer acquisition engine,” said, Joybroto Ganguly, Founder, AntWak.

The fresh infusion of funds will be used by AntWak to invest in content and education infrastructure, as well as to hire a marketing and inside sales team. It intends to expand its current team of 30 workers by 50-100 staff. The startup also plans to launch its first paid offering in May. it intends to graduate nearly 5,000 students this year, according to Ganguly. He added that they would also assist students with placements.
