Indian companies endow 3M USD in GCC nation
India's interest in manufacturing and information, communication and technology (ICT) space is rising and India is the fifth largest trading partner, and hence the trade between the countries is also increasing. Bahrain's regulatory climate, with a flexible tax regime and good ownership, makes the kingdom appealing to Indian scale-ups, unicorns and technology companies. Bahrain is the first Gulf Cooperation Council nation to adopt a cloud-first program. Knowing that India was taking a solid spot as a global power in the ICT sector, now the Gulf country is positioning itself as a strategic partner in the disruptive technology domain.
Indian IT businesses have inculcated a sum amount of 3.1 million USD in Bahrain’s ICT space. A total of seven Indian companies which include IT contractors, software and hardware developers whose total expenditure of 3.1 million USD was sanctioned by the Kingdom's Bahrain Economic Development Board (BEDB) last year.
